Pol Roger Winston Churchill Champagne, 750ml

The cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 2000 signed Pol Roger has an intense yellow gold dress, studded with fine and numerous bubbles. On the nose, the Churchill 2000 cuvée reveals itself in finesse and elegance. It is a nose that evolves on toasted, fruity notes of yellow flesh fruits (plum, plum, fresh quince, apricot), pulpy white stone fruit (white peach) and delicate floral touches reminiscent of the flower of the vine and the lime tree. On the palate, the cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 2000 has a nice balance between roundness, power, and fat. The attack is lively on a persistent frank and straight style. On the palate, we discover fruity and spicy aromas (cinnamon), but also with small touches of flinty accents, aromatic marker of the terroirs of origin and of the vintage. The long, slightly lemony finish marks a superb wine. This champagne is made in honour of Sir Winston Churchill, who was a keen and devoted follower of this famous house. The composition of the blend is a closely guarded family secret but from tasting it is likely that the champagne features about 70-80% Pinot Noir with the remainder made up from Chardonnay. The grapes are all from Grand Cru vineyards which were under vine during Churchill`s lifetime and it is only ever made in the very best vintages.
